MARION – Rodney Dean Clemens, 49, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City due to health complications.


SERVICES ARE PENDING.
Rodney was born September 3, 1964, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, the son of Ronald and Ruby Woodley Clemens. He received his education in Vinton.  On June 16, 1990, Rodney was united in marriage with Melisa Cooper at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple later divorced.


Rodney was a painter and woodworker. He worked for Klinger’s in Marion; Cabinet Studios in Cedar Rapids; and Tyco Painting in Marion.  Rodney was a member of Stewart United Methodist Church in Vinton. He enjoyed muscle cars, listening to music, refinishing furniture and woodworking.


Rodney is survived by his parents, Ron and Ruby Clemens of Vinton; his daughter, Calese Suzanne Clemens of Cedar Rapids; his significant other, Kathi Thompson, of Marion; three brothers: Rick Clemens of Vinton; Randy Clemens of Shelbyville, KY; and Ryan Clemens of Vinton; five nieces: Rachel Clemens of Cedar Rapids; Katlyn Clemens of Vinton; and Leslie, Dakota and Skylar Clemens of Louisville, KY; two nephews: Trevor and Alex Clemens of Vinton; three uncles: Victor (Esther) Woodley of Allison; Marvin (Sue) Woodley of Middleburg, FL; and Allan (Carol) Woodley of Parkersburg; many cousins; and special friend Calleen Randall.
